A few Birthday Cards

Good Afternoon and Happy Saturday!  I want to send a warm welcome to all my new followers and of course to all of you who drop by and follow me here.  I read and love all your wonderful comments.  Thank You!

OK, Now for 2 birthday cards I made earlier this week.  The 1st one up is one for my nieces 15th birthday. She loves turtles and her fave color is yellow, so this is what I came up with:

And here's the inside too:
Made this cad with the turtl digi I had in my files but unfortunately i failed to name who I got it from, sorry.  Colored it with Copics and fussy cut it out.  Added tiny white bow to top of presents, form Wal-mart.   Flowers are from Recollections.  Used  cuttle bug embossing folder, b/c I thought it kind of looked like the turtle's shell.  The green enamel dots are recollections also.  The die cut is from Spellbinders that I had for ages.  I used the cut out from the die cut to make a yellow space to match the front and stamped sentiment from Anna Griffin in blue.  Also stamped yellow tiny flower in corner also from Anna Griffin.  And that's it.....

I also made a birthday card for a dear friend, who loves to get handmade cards, Maria E.  She loves Stargazer Lilies, Shoes and the color purple, we both like all of theses actually!  So I made this card for her this year:

OK, here I used another Spellbinder Die and the shoe die is from Top Dog Dies.  The flowers are from a Google search for lilies coloring pages.  It was a quixcke card but I really like the end product.  Hope you all do too.

Until next time,

Pocket Card

Morning everyone.  I had to make a card for my card groups weekly challenge this week and the idea was to make a shaped card of a thing, not just a square or circle.  It actually had to be something.  So I have been wanting to try my hand at a pocket card. And so I decided on a flower pot pocket card.  I am very happy with the out come.  There are so many tutorials out there for this type of card.  I watched several and then just made this one from memory.  I did not add a sentiment yet, because I am not sure who the receiver will be.  Here is a link to one tutorial that was the easiest for me to follow:  Steph's Paper Crafting.

                                                        flower pot all together

Sentiment part out of pot pocket

Steph made it very easy to make this card. If you get the chance follow the link above to the tutorial and see for your selves.  And tell her I sent you, Please.  Well that's all for today.  Thanks so very much for coming by and do leave me some love.....

Another RAK (Random Act of Kindess) Card

Hello all.  Boy have we been having a few days of cooler weather here in TX 43 right now.  But at least we don't have snow and below 0 temps, thankful for that much.  Well as you all know my card group has a weekly challenge, just for fun and here is my card for last week.  It was to be a card for a male and we had to use 4 items from a list of things.  I chose grey card stock, nature stamp, embossing folder and gate fold.  And here is the card.
So  I started by making the gate fold card base then embossed front flaps only.  Used SB EF.  I then added the grey and Yellow scrap paper from my stash and also added a few black gems to opposite corners.  Die cut a the white frame and cut grey card to fit inside the middle and stamped in black Momento ink the Poppies from Just Right Stamps, and attached this to one side of the front flaps.  I decided it needed more pop so I added more black gems to frame it a bit and the little tiny white flowers and a tiny white bow (from Wal mart sewing section).  Not sure how manly it is but there you have it.  This going to card making friend, who is male, and is a retired art teacher and who makes wonderful cards also.  The inside of the card says " You are in my garden of friends".

That's all I have for now.  Still need to get my card for this week's challenge done, but I have been trying to organize my craft area and we all know how that can go, LOL.  Wish me luck.

Until next time
Stay warm, where ever you are

The challenge was to make a Black & white and add one other color.  So I added teal, my fav color!  Hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed making it....that's it for now.  Thanks so much for looking and leaving some comment love.  I do read them all and do my best to pop by your blog if you leave me the address.....

Birthday Cards x 3

Hello and BRRRRR..... it's been a really cold few days here in Texas and rainy too.  I made some more cards, actually three of them.  This first one I made about 2 wks. back but could not share it until today b/c I did not want the recipient, my dear friend Deloris to see before her birthday.  Stamped ink a dink a do stamps on card stock to stick out behind the spellbinder die, added some polka dot tan card stock scrap and recollections flower was added with glue dot.  The sentiment is from Ana Griffith that I had lying around. I then added a few bling stones to match.  Deloris said she loved army green and brown so I hope she likes this card.  Happy Birthday D!

The 2nd card below is for one of my close friends, Buffy.  She is very Girlie and loves Blue.  So this is what I did for her.
The stamped image is from Stamping Bella. I stamped it in blue Momento ink and colored it up with Copics, then added some lite blue Stickles to the dress also. Flower is from recollections and the bling and feathers are from Prima.

And last but not least this card is for my male friend Greg and who is also Buffy boyfriend.  I never know what to do for guys so I hope this is manly enough in color anyway!  I used Elizabeth craft stickers and microfine glitter and colored with copics.  My DH says it will pass the test, so i guess that means it is good to go! Sorry about the flash glare, no matter what I did it had that glare in the middle, sorry.....
Well that all I have for right now.  I still need to make 3 more birthday cards for my Dec.birthday friends . And can you believe I still have not got even 1/2 of my Christmas cards done yet.  Guess I better get on the stick and get busy!  Well have a warm and happy Sunday.  Thanks again for coming by for a visit.

Until next time
Big warm hugs

Challenge cards

Hello all.  Just popping in to share 2 cards.  The first one is from my weekly challenge for  the group I belong to Card Camp.  The challenge was to use black and gold and bling.  And here is what I did. After the fact i thought maybe it had to much, what do you think??

And now this 2nd card is for a challenge over at Gecko Galz, it's for the November Color Challenge - Fall colors. And it will be going to my parents as their Thanksgiving Card.  I colored the digi image with Copics and the die that is doily like is from Heartfelt Creations and the die that the digi is layered on is from spellbinders.  Added some bling and it was done.  It really says Fall to me........

That's it for now .  Thanks so much for popping in and do say hello, I love to hear from everyone!

A not so perfect card.......

Happy Friday!  It's another dreary gray cloudy day here.  I have been playing around with Peel off Stickers, micro-fine glitter and Copic markers.  So far I have only made 1 that turned out the way I actually wanted it to and tossed 3 others.  So today I thought I'd share the card that I made that has a few issues, it's still an OK card, but just not as great as I would of liked.  Apparently I need a little more practice with this card technique.  Well anyways here is my not so perfect card!

So can you see where the purple color is leaching out into the yellow?  I think maybe I used to much pressure when coloring with the copics.  It's not horrible but it could be better!  All products except the card base and black stone bling are from Elizabeth Crafts.  I love this technique, just need to practice it a bit.  Elizabeth Crafts has some cool outline stickers and their transfer sheets and dbl sided tape sheets are all very reasonable.  If you have never checked Elizabeth Crafts out, you should.  They have a great gallery and face book page with tons of pics for ideas.   I actually learned about this technique from a dear online card making Friend, Deloris. She sent me a card that was "gorjuss" earlier in the year and I have been wanting to try to make one since.   Well this was just to show that even someone who has been card making for some time has trouble sometime too, LOL

So this card was made for the Tuesday Color Challenge over at Outlawz. here is a pic of the color theme:

At least my colors look right, even if the card is not perfect, LOL!

This card is being entered in the following Challenge(s):

             Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge

It definitely will not win, but just had to share it anyway..... :)
Have a fun weekend.

Until next time,

Alittle late but got it in

Hello everyone.  I had to play and create a card for the Tuesday Color Challenge over at OUTLAWS Challenge site.  I have missed playing along for a very long time and the colors this last week were just to pretty to not play, so I made my card and just got it in on the last day, today, better late than never as the saying goes, LOL!  The color theme is below and my card follows, the twist was to make it Autumn or Fall related.

Also used this card for my weekly card group challenge, where we had to use 1 stamp 3 times.  Some card friend will be getting this as a RAK soon.  I will be adding the other few fall cards later today or tomorrow so be sure to check back soon.  :

I am back finally!! Woohoo

Hello, Hello, Hello, and a very Happy Friday to all my crafty friends. I am finally back to getting a little crafty.  Not sure if I mentioned before that my DH and talked my parents into selling their home in Florida and moving here to Texas.  Well they did and it sold in August.  Now I should explain why we wanted them closer.  They are getting up in age (77 & 89) and my Step dad had Alzhiemer as does my MIL that lives with me and DH.  My mum is a bit younger than pop and they really had no one to assist with the house needs and not mention with their health needs.  So as of Aug. 19th they have moved to Texas.  They wanted to rent, so we found them a very nice duplex on the lake about 9 minutes from my house.  It was a hard move but so worth it.  Pop has fallen several times and it was awesome to be able to run over and pick him up for mom.  And yes we have ordered a gait belt to make it possible for her to get him up.  I believe they are happy here now, it took a while for them to feel like this is home, but they are adjusting fairly well.  I think it's me and DH getting used to have to run them everywhere from doctors, to shopping to just plain getting out, since pops can no longer drive and mom never has driven.  It's starting to all come together, I think.  And I am happy to be able to see them everyday if I want.  Here's a picture of them the first weekend they arrived, we had gone to lunch at a local pub.

And then one of me and my Mum, isn't she just adorable
So that is why I have been AWOL for a bit.  I have made a few cards here and there though, will be posting them soon.  Oh and my mum is a crafter also, so we can share all our stash now, yippee! OK now I will leave you with a card I made for my card groups weekly challenge. It was a card we hade to case and here is mine.

I'll be back later today hopefully to show you all the missing cards I've made while away.
Have a wonderful Friday!  Glad to be back Crafting.

DT Post - CWLC Blog Challenge #54 - Something Sweet

Howdy and Happy Monday everyone.  Thanks for stopping by today to see my newest DT Post for CWLC Blog.  This week's theme is "Something Sweet" and our sponsor this week is Limited Runs.  The image I used from them is called Cinnamon Swirl. I decided to print the digi on the larger side and make it the actual card. Colored the straw and cup with Copics then added some blue and red Stickles to the topping.  Then I made a small tan bow from ribbon and added to cup with glue dot.  The inside says "Have a sweet birthday".
This one has been mailed off to a sweet male friend in a card group I'm in, who  makes awesome cards, for his Birthday.  I think he will like it, at least I hope so.  Now here's the card:

I hope you decided to join us this week for this fun, fun challenge and for a chance at a great prize.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.  Now pop over to the CWLC Blog for some more sweet inspiration from my other team mates.

Hello there crafty friends.  I have 2 cards to share with you all, that I made with WASHI TAPE.  Now I have a whole basket of these rolls of tape, but do I use them enough, NO.  Is it just me or do you all have things you just plain get and forget about.... why is that??  Well any way I need a couple more Thank you cards so I pulled out that basket of washi tape and here is what I came up with.  The green and red card is for Card Camp an Online group I'm in and our challenge this week was to make a card (not a xmas card) using traditional christmas red and green with a touch of gold or silver. And here they are........

My Texas Card

Popping by to share the card I made for my Parents.  They are getting older and I finally convinced them to move here close to me and to my surprise they agreed.  They will be here in August, Yay!! I am so excited to have them so close by, they'll be 10 minutes from me.  And now here is the card to Welcome them to Texas.

I am using it as my challenge card for the card group I am in too.   All in all I am happy about how it came out and I know they will love it.  Even if it has a few shakey hand ink mishaps, from my arthritis, they will still be touched by it!  I can't wait to have them here.....

Until next time,
Keep on Crafting

Another New Card

Evening Peeps! I have been busy crafting cards this week, still need to finish 3 DT cards and come up with a Welcome to TX card for my parents who are moving here, YAY!  And DH is away til the weekend so I have a lot more time to craft.  The card I am going to show you now I made for my card group challenge.  It will be a RAK (random act of kindness) for someone in another Card Group.......  First I Punched the border with Friskars Bubble punch, added a backer card colored with Copics to match the tiny buttons (from Micheal's) added down the side in bright cheery summer colors.  I then embossed the buttons and stitching with Cuttlebug  EF's (embossing folders) and lightly colored them with chalk.  Added alittle faux stitching around the card edges and then the sentiment was attached.  That's it easy peasy......... So here it is:

I still have a lot of cards a to make and share so it's going to be a busy week crafting here :)  Thanks for popping by and viewing my cards, makes me happy to share all my creations with you all.

Until next time,
Don't let the bed bugs bite...................
