Another RAK (Random Act of Kindess) Card

Hello all.  Boy have we been having a few days of cooler weather here in TX 43 right now.  But at least we don't have snow and below 0 temps, thankful for that much.  Well as you all know my card group has a weekly challenge, just for fun and here is my card for last week.  It was to be a card for a male and we had to use 4 items from a list of things.  I chose grey card stock, nature stamp, embossing folder and gate fold.  And here is the card.
So  I started by making the gate fold card base then embossed front flaps only.  Used SB EF.  I then added the grey and Yellow scrap paper from my stash and also added a few black gems to opposite corners.  Die cut a the white frame and cut grey card to fit inside the middle and stamped in black Momento ink the Poppies from Just Right Stamps, and attached this to one side of the front flaps.  I decided it needed more pop so I added more black gems to frame it a bit and the little tiny white flowers and a tiny white bow (from Wal mart sewing section).  Not sure how manly it is but there you have it.  This going to card making friend, who is male, and is a retired art teacher and who makes wonderful cards also.  The inside of the card says " You are in my garden of friends".

That's all I have for now.  Still need to get my card for this week's challenge done, but I have been trying to organize my craft area and we all know how that can go, LOL.  Wish me luck.

Until next time
Stay warm, where ever you are

  1. A beautiful card, Chris, and I think it will be perfect for your art friend. Love the contrast of colors, especially the metal look against the others. Great embossing too. Gatefolds are not easy cards to make (at least for me!) and you did a marvelous job. Your S/B focal image is a super closure to this card. Stunning. Stay warm & I'm thankful you have no low digit temps, snow & ice - as well. Hugs &TFS

  2. Beautifully constructed card! I really like the way you did the focal point! As far as the Liebster award goes--I decided to skip the questions--just not enough time for the priorities in my life. Feel free to use the questions Colleen wrote for her nominees to answer, if you'd like. Hope you get some new traffic to your blog!
